Miami Boat Donations: An Easy Way to Support WLRN Public Media

Are you tired of the annual repairs and constant servicing that your boat requires? Are the costs that come with maintaining your vessel getting to be too much? From the West Coast to the East Coast, boat owners have the ability to donate their boat, yacht, sailboat, WaveRunner, jet ski, or other motorized watercraft to WLRN Public Media in Miami. We make donating your vessel incredibly easy! Our vehicle donation program handles the pick-up and sale all for free. Plus, you could qualify for a tax deduction in the process.

WLRN, located just off the Biscayne Bay, is best known for its award-winning public radio and television programs, but its services go well beyond the airwaves. WLRN also provides media support to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, whose 320 schools have an enrollment of over 319,000 students. With any type of charitable boat donation, you provide WLRN the ability to continue propelling high-quality programs and content for surrounding cities and marinas such as Miami Beach, Hialeah, Miami Gardens, Homestead, Coral Gables, Doral, Cutler Bay and Miami-Dade County.

We know that you may be hesitant to get rid of a water toy. However, WLRN’s vehicle donation program makes it incredibly easy to donate your boat, sailboat, WaveRunner, or another vessel. Additionally, WLRN accepts a variety of vehicle donations – running or not. We welcome donated cars, trucks, RVs and more.

State notification releases a donor from liability over the vehicle, including registration fees and from having to keep the vehicle insured. State notification is a way for the state to create a record that the owner is no longer in possession of the vehicle. The steps needed to release your liability of a donated vehicle vary by state. Depending on the state, this step may require surrendering your license plates, cancelling your registration, or submitting a report of sale or notice of transfer. State notification should be completed before cancelling your insurance. Click here to learn the steps required for notifying your state that you’ve donated your vehicle.
In many cases, once the donation record has been created, we can arrange to have the vehicle be picked up on the initial call. If the boat needs to be picked up sooner, please let one of our Vehicle Donor Support Team know during your initial call so we can put a rush order on your donation.
In most cases, smaller boats with trailers are sold through an auction facility. We carefully evaluate each vehicle to find the best buyers. We assess the year, make, model, location, and resale potential then monitor the sale to ensure maximum returns. High-end, large slipped, or specialty vehicles are individually evaluated and go to National Liquidators, a national vendor who specializes in boats.
